We are a sustainably led contemporary
textile studio & dye house.

We are on a mission to remove pollutants from our industry,
and eradicate toxins from our homes & wardrobes.

We want to mend the disconnect between our textiles and our understanding of their impact on the environment, labour, and human health. It is time for us to end our high consumption, throw-away relationship with textiles and to revere cloth once more.

Textiles

We work with fabrics that do not have a negative impact on our environment and we choose only natural textiles because microfibres from synthetic fibres are the largest contributor to plastic pollution in our oceans.

We naturally hand-dye cloth woven only from sustainably grown fibres such as linen which requires little to no irrigation, hemp which captures carbon as it grows, and organic cotton which preserves biodiversity by eliminating the use of toxic chemicals and insecticides.

The textile industry is the second largest water polluter in the world.
Synthetic dyes & fibres and the toxic chemicals used in processing textiles
are not only polluting our waterways but also negatively impacting our health.

Finishing

Our cloth is NEVER chemically finished.

We are conscious of the methods used to “finish” the fabrics that we source for our work and only source raw cloth that is: loomstate, lightened in an environmentally friendly way, and that has not been chemically coated.

Heavy metals used in the commercial dyeing process, chemical coatings like Formaldehyde & synthetic colour for example Azo dyes can affect the liver, thyroid, and central nervous system. They can cause cancer, respiratory problems (asthma), and skin irritations such as dermatitis.

Dyeing

We colour our cloth using natural dyes free from pollutants. Our dyes are 100% naturally derived and therefore water-soluble.

We create our handmade dyes from plants and food waste for bespoke orders and for larger orders and repeat meterage, we use biological and botanical extracts.

Synthetic dyes do not degrade under natural environmental conditions.
When waste water is released from textile factories, it bio-accumulates in the environment, polluting our waterways and affecting the health of our ecosystems.

Packaging

We have spent time developing packaging with a conscience.

Larger orders of fabric are sent out wrapped in a carbon neutral, plastic-free sheeting made from sugar cane and despatched on reclaimed cardboard rolls.

Small orders are sent out in paper sacks which are 100% degradable, recyclable and reusable.

Our tape is acid free, vegan and 100% recyclable and our tissue paper is acid-free and biodegradable.

Our stationery is made from 100% post consumer waste and the paper is manufactured using Windpower.

We want to make your home a healthier place to be.

That is why we produce non-toxic, chemical-free,
naturally coloured, plant-based, breathable fabrics.

We want you to Live Beautifully, Sustainably.
